Multiphysics Optimization

1- Electromagnetics Optimization with CST Studio Suite:

• Tosca Structure is now able to solve topology and shape optimizations for low frequency and high frequency electromagnetic problems using CST Studio Suite as the solver.
• The Simulation and the Optimization can be set up directly in the CST Studio UI thus enabling a seamless workflow.

2- Topology Optimization for Thermal load cases:

• This version offers new thermal optimization capabilities in Tosca Structure.
• During the optimization Convection and Conduction are scaled along with the topology design variable. The Convection is reapplied to newly created surfaces during the optimization.
• Thermal Design Responses such as Temperature, Flux and Thermal Energy can be taken into account during the optimization.

Improved Usability

• Transition zone for bead optimization.
• Generic design variables (Tosca Structure can include design variables that are not connected to nodes, elements, faces and other entities from mesh, geometry, or the finite-element model).
• Default Change for Penetration Check to Include Shell Thickness and Offset.
• Tosca Resume functionality.
• Plastic Strain approximations as Design Responses in combination with SIMULIA Abaqus.

• SIMULIA Execution Engine (SEE) administrator can now change the default job log level for jobs submitted from WebTop.
