Offline programming in the native robot language
Accurate, production-ready robot programs are delivered while the robots stay in production. The program is written and validated on the model of the cell, translated into the language of the robot, and downloaded to the controller for execution.

What does offline programming change on the shop floor?
The robot keeps producing while its next program is written and proven on a model of the cell. Dassault Systèmes describe it as delivering accurate, production-ready robot programs while keeping robots in production, and as enabling simultaneous engineering offline to accelerate the start of production. Teaching at the robot takes it out of production for as long as the programming lasts.
We run robots from more than one maker. Does it work with all of them?
Yes. The multi-brand robot library and the associated translators are delivered with the roles, with robot and controller models from all major industrial robot manufacturers. One software then programs a line that mixes makers, each robot in its own language. We check every robot and controller pair on your list against the delivered translators before quoting.
Can we download native programs and upload existing ones?
Both. Validated programs are downloaded to the shop floor in the native robot language, and existing production programs are uploaded from the robot controller to the platform for validation and editing. The 3D workcell layout is calibrated to match the physical one, so the programs arrive accurate. A standard controller uses the delivered translator, and a translator for an unusual controller is customized, which we quote the way a post-processor is quoted.
What is virtual commissioning, and which roles include it?
The robot programs, the PLC program and the rest of the automation are tested together on the model before the cell is built, which finds communication, logic and synchronization errors early. Robotics Virtual Commissioning Analyst (RVN) runs those scenarios on the cell that any robotics role has built. Virtual commissioning also sits inside 3 of the roles packaged for one industry, among them Fabrication Robot Workcell Programmer for Industrial Equipment (RARWI). Dassault Systèmes support Hardware-in-the-Loop and Software-in-the-Loop testing and describe the solution as PLC agnostic.
How do I know which role I need?
By what the robot does. Spot welding and drilling and riveting are Assembly Robot Programmer (RAM), arc welding and sealant are Fabrication Robot Programmer (RFP), painting and finishing are Surface Robot Programmer (RSG), and palletizing is Material Handling Robot Programmer (RMH). Each role is sold on its own and they overlap in what they cover. The quote guide works it out from your answers and shows you why.
We mill, trim or deburr with a robot. Is that a robotics role?
It is a machining role. Dassault Systèmes include machining with a robot in the 5 axis milling roles, NC Milling Machine Programmer (NTX) and NC Mill-Turn Machine Programmer (NTA), with the same robot library and translators. A second robot that loads and unloads the part is created with a robotics role, and both run in one cell.
